  • Bio

Elizabeth Millender is a senior associate attorney with Cromer Babb & Porter, LLC, who has been with the firm since 2018.

Elizabeth is passionate about representing South Carolina workers in employment claims. Her practice includes representation of clients in pre-suit and severance negotiations; unemployment appeals with the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce; the grievance process, internally and with the State Employee Grievance Committee; filing charges of discrimination with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and South Carolina Human Affairs Commission; the federal EEO process; and litigation in state and federal court. Elizabeth can additionally help clients with contract formation and disputes, general civil litigation, intellectual property issues, and land use/property disputes.

Elizabeth grew up in Cameron, South Carolina, a small rural town in Calhoun County, where her family owned and ran a small business and where her mother taught in public education for many years. This background gives Elizabeth a true appreciation for the difficulties and struggles of South Carolina’s workers across various fields and industries.

Elizabeth moved to Columbia to attend the University of South Carolina, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2016. Elizabeth next attended the University of South Carolina School of Law where she graduated cum laude in 2019.

While in law school, Elizabeth was a Peer Mentor to incoming first year students, served as Senior Articles Editor for the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal, and worked as a Research Assistant for an Intellectual Property professor. Elizabeth also enjoyed volunteering with the pro bono program, especially for the My Will Project where she assisted in the drafting of estate planning documents for the community.

Elizabeth solidified this love of serving the underrepresented while working in the University of South Carolina School of Law’s Environmental Law Clinic. In this role, Elizabeth represented non-profit organizations and helped them solve environmental, contractual, and property issues so that they could fulfill their goal of making Columbia a healthier, more beautiful, and sustainable city.

Since graduating law school and starting her practice, Elizabeth has joined the Junior League of Columbia, where she serves on the Done-In-A-Day Committee, and the Young Lawyer Division’s Backpack Drive Committee.

When she is not in the office, Elizabeth likes to camp, hike, and visit state and national parks and forests. You can also find Elizabeth cheering on the Gamecocks at Williams-Brice Stadium and Founders Park or spending time with her husband, Keith (a youth pastor and Twitch streamer) and their dogs, Mia and Angus, and exploring local restaurants and businesses around Columbia.
